美国读研推荐信
一般而言，申请美国研究生时，学校会要求提供三封推荐信，当然，也有的专业是只需要两封，甚至一封的。那么，这部分留学申请书的重要材料有什么要求？应该找谁来写才合适？本文就来和大家讨论美国研究生推荐信人选问题。
一、美国研究生推荐信人选原则
三个推荐人，一般是选择两个学校老师当推荐人，第三个选择实习单位上司当推荐人。留学申请书的重要性不言而喻，大家在选择老师时一定要仔细斟酌。
二、美国研究生推荐信人选：班主任、系主任、辅导员
学校老师可以选择像班主任、系主任、辅导员这类老师。
因为他们是与你有接触的前提条件下，又是对你整体情况比较了解的人。通过他们的推荐信，来向学校展示你的不同于学习方面的能力。比如，如果你申请传媒专业，可以通过课外活动的事例，在你的留学申请书中体现你的团队沟通能力、交际能力等等之类的。
三、美国研究生推荐信人选：专业课老师
另一封学校老师推荐信，建议一个选择与所申请专业相关或相近的专业课老师，借他来向招生官展示你的学术学习与研究所需的能力。
比如，申请金融专业，如果你是金融专业学生，那么自然可以选择金融专业课老师之一；
如果你是非金融商科专业学生，那么可以选择相关的商科专业课，比如宏微观经济学；
或者是其他非商科专业，那么尽量选能够体现你数理分析能力的课程，这是要学好金融所必须的特质；
当然，如果没有，你可以选择你的本科专业课老师之一，通过实例讲解，在留学申请书中体现你的学习能力、分析能力之类的。
四、美国研究生推荐信人选：实习单位上司
实习单位上司，我们也一般建议，也是美国学校有时会提到的直属上司。这个要求，其实很好理解的。因为你，只有走直属上司，才是更加了解你的工作内容、工作状态、工作表现的。因此，他才更有发言权来说你的能力特点，并且，能够对这些特点的相关事例，如数家珍。不然，推荐信的说服力就不足了。

2. 推荐信在硕士申请中有多重要呢？
一个申请者的背景，我们经常把他分为软件背景和硬件背景两个方面。很难笼统地去说某一个具体的背景在申请中会有多重要，因为这个确实是很难衡量的。但有一些是可以确定的，比如，想冲顶级的项目，高质量的推荐信非常重要。对于普通学生来说，如果拿不到特别有高质量的推荐信，那你至少要保证你的推荐信不会拖你申请的后腿。总之，推荐信有多重要，还是看你能够拿到的推荐信的含金量如何，这其实是跟你其他方面的背景是相辅相成的，一个GPA，科研都不咋地的学生，拿到牛推的概率也要小得多。对于那些个别背景有硬伤，比如GPA，或者GT，推荐信会是一个很好的解释的手段。比如，一个申请者GPA不怎么高，但他科研很强，他跟着大牛做项目，然后大牛给他写了一封强推，然后信中对GPA进行了解释，这对于申请的帮助是非常大的。另外一点，想补充一下，来自中国的推荐信的含金量其实不怎么高，因为美国学校那边也知道确实造假比较严重。总之，对于普通的申请者来说，还是那句话，保证推荐信不拖后腿的基础上尽量做得好一些就OK了。如果推荐信没有那么给力，能不能录取最主要还是要看你其他的背景，这个讲起来有点多，就只说推荐信吧。
3. 好的硕士推荐信是什么样子的呢？（我感觉，硕士的高质推荐信跟Phd不太一样，因为招生流程毕竟不同。）
这跟招生流程关系倒没那么大，最关键是硕士和PhD看重的东西稍微还是有点不一样。至于说好的推荐信是什么样子，这个问题太大了。提醒几个点，你可以注意一下，推荐信是推荐人从第三者的角度客观公正的对你的表现作出评价。首先，你要知道你身上最突出的优点是什么，你最想让对方学校知道的是什么。这些就是你推荐信中应该要提到的点。其次，具体的事例很重要，对于大多数申请者，是没有机会拿到牛推的。对于普通的推荐信来说，论证你每一个论点的具体的事例的含金量将决定你推荐信的含金量，所以事例的选取很重要。再次，如果推荐人能在推荐信中提供一些参考系帮助学校做判断这个申请者大概是一个什么水平的学生，就更好了。比如，拿你和某个特别出色的学生做对比。以上是针对大多数拿不到牛推的申请者来说，对于那些背景还可以，稍微够一下说不定就能要得着牛推的申请者，还是尽最大努力去拿牛推。牛推本身就是实力的象征。
4. 申请硕士的推荐人跟目标院系的教授认识，是否有很大的助推作用？例：我目标申请斯坦福的硕士，我目前的一位导师之前是斯坦福的教授，现在跟斯坦福大学的几位院系教授也有密切的交往，我如果请这位老师做推荐，是否能大幅提高申请成功率？
当然。可是也有前提，前提就是你这位推荐人给你的推荐信的力度足够强。就拿你这个例子来说，如果你能到这封推荐信，说明你本身自身实力就很强。加上推荐人的关系，这对于申请来说是很大的促进作用。相反，如果推荐信的力度很弱，这对于申请不会有什么积极影响，甚至会是决定性的不利的影响。

I write in my capacity as tutor in the College of Finance, xxx university, to offer my recommendation for xxx. Xxx attended my classes ‘Financial Mathematics’ and ‘Business Statistics’ in 2008 and 2009 respectively. The textbooks for these two courses were in English.
Xxx was a very active student. In the Financial Mathematics class, she always participated keenly in session interaction. Students taking this course need plenty of practice to get familiar with the advanced concepts that I teach, and so I often ask them to demonstrate solutions on the blackboard to set out their progress. Xxx not only excelled at this ,but also was adept at guiding other less capable students to complete these demonstrations.

Xxx was equally active in my Business Statistics class. She would preview every lesson and would often share her understanding about the various topics with other students. Dear Sir or Madam,
I am a tutor at the xxx university’s xxx college, and this letter is written in support of an excellent student of mine, xxx.
The College of Financial Management was founded in 1995. The finance course has been listed as a key disciplinary area by the city Education Bureau, and our master program in finance was one of the earliest to be set up in Shanghai. Since 1998, our undergraduate programs in finance and financial management have been run in conjunction with Douglas College in Canada. Our joint program has won the Shanghai Teaching Achievement Prize and Canada’s Outstanding International Education Award.
At the beginning of 2009, i began to teach xxx in econometrics. Among the top 5%, of students her dynamic class performance let her stand out among her peers. I was also impressed by her good English language skills, which were more than enough for her to cope with the English textbooks with no problem.
When i raised questions in class, xxx was usually one of the first to answer, and was nearly always accurate in her response. My course is intellectually demanding, but she had little difficulty even with the
hardest of topics. Her assignments were always handed in on time and to a high degree of accuracy, and because of her strength in the subject her peers would often turn to her for help.
Additionally, xxx had excellent practical ability and organizational ability. I recall that i once asked my students to create an experiment report, setting up an econometric model on a topic according to their
interest. Xxx led a team to make a report on econometrics case studies to do with stimulating the consumption composition of rural residents. Her group made their model according to the best current data, and then made serial inspections to verify its accuracy.
As the team leader, xxx assigned the various tasks to each member. It was also she who chose the overall topic, and she performed will here too. Initially her group pondered working with the price of Japanese cooking goods in Shanghai, via data provided online. But xxx saw that there were too many errors in the model they drew up, and that it was difficult to analyze. She took the initiative to change their subject area to a more promising field.
