possible solutions about the reason of the extinction of
First reason mentioned in the passage is that the extinction of sea cows is the result of slaughter of native Siberian people. This is totally impossible according to the professor in the lecture. A single sea cow is about 9 meters long and has a weight of about 10 tons. The population of local Siberian people is so small and as result they just need to kill little massive of sea cows for food or skins. This kind of hunting cannot lead to the result of the extinction of a species.
The second reason mentioned in the passage is the changing of ecosystems. The professor also thinks that is a rather weak assumption. The changing of ecosystem is a rather big thing which can not only lead to the extinction of single species. A much more likely result is a huge decrease of all the animals living in this area.
The last reason given in this passage is the coming of European fur traders. The appearance of Europeans and the disappearance of sea cows are almost in the same time. However, the professor thinks this coincidence in time cannot prove the European killed all sea cows. The population of sea cows actually decreased since centuries before the arrival of Europeans. And the Europeans are just witnesses of this extinction.
As the reasons given above, the professor criticized the article's all 3 reasons about the extinction of sea cows. And this argument will lead to further research about the extinction of sea cows.

xt">托福TPO的难度和真实考试接近吗被大多数新 托福 考生所熟知的TPO的全名是 TOEFL Practice Online，TPO源于ETS数年内IBT考试使用过的真题，并且TPO系列从1-12套题均取材为不同时期的 托福考试 真题，因此TPO很好地反映出了 ETS托福考试从取材，设置考题到其出题思路的变化以及新TOEFL考试逐渐走向成熟的轨迹。从这点来说，TPO的价值是极其珍贵的，因为它唯一的标识了 ETS的TOEFL-iBT产品逐渐走向系统化，标准化，科学化，成熟化的轨迹。
以TPO的听力部分来说，毋庸置疑的是：根据中国IBT考生群体现状来分析，阅读，听力，口语，写作四部
分来说。TPO的价值体现最大之处就在听力这部分。所以如何更好的利用TPO系列来备考 新托福 就成了最热门，也是最实际的话题了。现有的TPO资料是：TPO 01-12的全套听力资料。由于TPO是真题，所以对其一定要认真也仔细分析研读。我建议所有的IBT考生，在没有彻底研读并融会贯通TPO听力资料前，其他IBT非新托福真题的资料就请先放下。这时候你应该集中精力研习TPO，这才是王道。换句话说，TPO才是短期内帮你提高IBT分数的最佳利器和最佳途径。无可否认，Longman, Barron, Delta, 高分120等等这些材料的确帮助了一代又一代的IBT考生，但是针对目下IBT考试在阅读和听力难度上的极大提升来说，这些材料已经逐渐不能满足我们考生对于备考IBT的需求了。我曾经看到过一段某IBT教育培训机构对于IBT常规材料备考的描述和评价：

曾经也有考生在考前几天用TPO练习，做了一套后，阅读错3个得了29，听力错2个，29，写作中语法也错误频频。加之，进入考场后，对于其他的考生的干扰，所以无法集中精力，心态出现了问题。对此，上海智课托福提出一些建议：
1. 阅读对了39-40是27-30分。对41或者42个全对才是满分。TPO是官方的肯定是可信的，注意文章结构真实考试时候和判卷老师关系很大你没法掌握的。口语是肯定不受干扰的……说口语就是打扰别人的份。不要认为早点到场一定就好，早到会被那些练习口语的同学干扰到，晚点进去还有机会听到别人答题。阅读如果怕被影响可以买个那种塑料耳塞，隔音效果很好的，而且允许带进去。

第四遍：看着原文，听录音跟读(以句子为单位进行查漏工作)。
第五遍：再听读(检查跟读后的效果)。
第六遍：看着原文，听录音跟读(以单词和短语为单位进行查漏工作)。
第七遍：再听读(检查跟读后的效果)。
TPO的难度和现行考试尚还有些差距，因为ETS一直在升级现行IBT考试的难度。但是TPO却是最接近现行考试难度设置的资料，因为它毕竟是真题。而向以前时间经常被大家冠以变态，超难的Barron，今天它在现行新托福难度的对比下也只能被描述成为弱势备考资料群体的代名词---巴朗的难度已经远远不能比拟现行IBT考试的难度了。今天IBT考试的难度和特色已经登峰造极，市面上已经没有任何一套非真题材料能够和它比拟。
